at the 2015 National Asian Cricket Awards.
Yorkshire cricket secured another prestigious award this week when Batley CC were named joint winners of the club of the year award at the National Asian Cricket Awards held at Lord's.
Batley CC received the award in recognition of the Club’s innovation work in engaging the local community, showing high levels of commitment in creating opportunities for South Asian cricket in the locality.
The awards were opened by Baroness Sayeeda Warsi with many current and past cricket greats in attendance.
Hassan Kayat, Chair of Club commented ‘’the feedback we received from the panel was that they were really impressed with the high level of engagement and collaboration with various local groups and agencies to deliver quality projects both on and off the pitch.’’

The club has dedicated the award to the late Farid Karolia, their former Chairman, in recognition of the immense amount of community work he carried out over the years.
The award was shared with Attock Cricket club from Birmingham and Great Horton Church CC from Bradford was also on the shortlist in recognition of their achievements as a club.
