Massive congratulations to Zoeya Ahmed - who was recognised as Chance to Shine's Young Leader of the Year at the recent Chance to Shine Awards 2021!

Zoeya returned to her street project after taking a break for her GCSE exams. Now the eldest participant, she asked to volunteer to help the younger girls at the project. She was extremely popular with the group, who were fully engaged with her since she started. As lockdown lifted, she really came into her own as she highlighted concerns parents were having around fitness levels and ensured sessions had a focus on that and even added extra sessions over the summer holidays. This enabled the girls to get fitter and improve their cricket. She has done tremendous work building the girls section of the project and promoting cricket in the community.
