The Town Field youngsters (pictured) defeated York side Heworth in Sunday’s final to cap a memorable day at Hunslet Nelson cricket ground near Leeds. Wins against West Bretton, Methley and Barnsley saw Doncaster reach finals day, where they beat Whitley Hall in the last four.
A resilient 34 by opener Jack Harris saw Doncaster post a well below par 71 in the final but an exceptional bowling display, spearheaded by George Cowan (3-8) and James Morris (2-7), saw Heworth collapse to 60 all out.
Doncaster are now four more wins away from reaching the last four of the NatWest U15s national competition.
Coach Stuart Guy said: “The batters won the semi-final and the bowlers won the final.
This is a brilliant achievement by all the boys who are a solid unit.Cricket is a team game and this team deserved it by playing good, hard cricket.''
