The 3rd National Asian Cricket Awards held on Friday 23rd September saw Maryam Ali, a community cricket coach in Leeds,awarded the Club Cricket Conference Inspiration Award in recognition of her work coaching cricket to young Asian girls.

Maryam (pictured receiving her award) was one of a number of Yorkshire nominees with Adil Rashid being awarded the Professional Player of the Year: Shabnam Ismail, Yorkshire Diamonds Player, being joint winner of the Women in Cricket award (winner with Nailsha Patel from Lancashire); and Yorkshire runners up being Nasa Hussain, Community Groundsman (Grassroots, Mount Cricket Club (Asian Club)and Kunwar Bansil, YCCC Physio (Behind the Scenes).
