Cheshire U12s v Yorkshire U12A Sunday 11th June 2017 Widnes CC
Cheshire won the toss and batted in cloudy conditions with showers forecast. Archie Vaughan (Michael Vaughan’s son) top scored with 37 as Cheshire posted a challenging 179 off their 45 overs. Charlie Mcmurran ( 9-1-37-3) and Scott Godden(4-0-23-2) were our most successful bowlers.
YCB got off to a slow but solid start due to some accurate Cheshire bowling in the first 15 overs with Alex Cree(21) leading the way. On his debut Tom Miller(59) and Leo Diffey(34)increased the run rate in the last 25 overs backed up by Elias Smith(32no) but ultimately YCB left themselves too much to do in the last 10 overs and fell 12 runs short.
Cheshire 179 for 9(45 overs) YCB 167 all out.

Yorkshire U12A v Lancashire Thursday 22nd June 2017 Lightcliffe CC
YCB won the toss and batted on an excellent pitch. Sam Spenceley (25) and Alex Cree got YCB off to a good start with some excellent shots through the covers. Leo Diffey (15) and Scott Godden(25) continued to support Cree who continued to play some outstanding shots. He accelerated in the last 10 overs and brought up an outstanding century (102no) in the last over with 7 4’s off 130 balls. 187 should have been a winning total especially at u12 level.
Lancashire batted steadily and were 89 for 3 in the 28th over and the match could have gone either way but ultimately Lancashire paced their innings very well with Aston (36) and Carney (52no) leading the way. Alex Wood (9-1-28-2) and Oliver Walsh (9-1-41-3) were our best bowlers but giving away 41 extras won the game for Lancashire.
YCB 187 for 5(45 overs) Lancashire 190 for 8.

Yorkshire U12A v Wales Sunday 2nd July 2017 Sheffield and Phoenix United CC
Wales won the toss and asked YCB to bat on a green looking wicket due to rain preceding the game.Wales seam bowlers had YCB 33 for 5 with Watts(9-5-9-2) and Essenhigh(8-2-39-2) as the leading bowlers but a magnificient stand of 166 between Alex Cree(98no) with 11 4’s and 1 6 and Leo Diffey(71no) with 7 4’s and 1 6 led YCB to 199 for 5 off their 45 overs.
Like YCB,Wales struggled in the first 20 overs and were 58 for 6.Excellent bowling from Mcmurran(5-0-13-2) Bradford (9-2-17-2) and Alex Wood(8.2-2-13-2) took wickets at regular intervals to bowl Wales out for 86 an excellent display in all areas of the game from YCB.

Yorkshire U12A v Warwickshire Thursday 6th July 2017 East Bierley CC
YCB won the toss and batted with thunderstorms forecast for mid afternoon so 40 overs a side rather than the normal 45 overs were played.Matthew Hood(36) Alex Cree(38) and Leo Diffey(49no) were the main run contributors backed up by a brisk 21no from Tom Miller in the last few overs to take YCB up to 159.
Due to tight bowling,Warwicks struggled throughout their innings with Alex Wood(2-20) and Charlie Mcmurran(1-2)our most successful bowlers backed up by some excellent fielding.Hamza Shaikh(29) and George Baine(29no) top scored but Warwicks fell well short on 113 for 6 off their 40 overs.
YCB 159 for 4(40 overs) Warwickshire 113 for 6.
YCB won by 46 runs.
Warwickshire v Yorkshire U12A Monday 24th July 2017 Berkswell CC
With captain Alex Cree promoted to the U13s for the rest of the season due to his fine form with the bat,Sam Spenceley took over as captain won the toss and elected to bat on what looked a good hard batting track.Matthew Hood(49) held the YCB batting together as most batters struggled for runs against an excellent Warwickshire bowling attack.Archie Haddon (15) Scott Godden(13) and Matthew Simms(15no) were our only batters to reach double figures.120 for 9 was a well below par total of which bowling accurately backed up by excellent fielding was essential.
Although YCB bowled and fielded very well,Warwicks eased to their winning total with 5 overs to go with Asram(27) and Khan (25) leading the way.There were valiant efforts by Alex Wood(2-33) and Leo Diffey(5-1-6-1) but ultimately YCB did not score enough runs on a good batting pitch.
