at Ampleforth.
The Yorkshire Girls District Programme made history this weekend & continued it's extremely successful partnership with the prestigious Ampleforth College.
The Yorkshire Girls District Programme, at U13 & U15 level, over the last two years have visited Ampleforth College over the May Bank Holiday weekend, this year was different, and we managed to arrange a two day event. The U15 Girls stayed at Alban Roe House at the college & the U13 stayed at the 17th Century Historic Gilling Castle site. The cricketing facilities at the college are second to none, and the accommodation as well was up to scratch, the girls lived like cricketers for two days.
We are constantly trying to adapt & change our programme to make sure that the girls receive a fantastic experience through our programme both on and off the pitch. The Girls currently play both longer formats & shorter format games which reflects the England Women & the ECB Girls County Cricket structure in place. We hope to build on this festival so we can continue to create the very best female cricketers here in Yorkshire.
West, North, South & East Yorkshire had 30 over games on the Sunday as part of the Yorkshire Girls District Cricket League, which followed by Super & Activities on the night. In the morning a cooked breakfast was in order before the T20 Cup Competitions on the Monday, the Girls play three of these throughout the summer. These games were part of the season long programme in place for the competition.
We would like to thank Ampleforth College for organising this trip with us and we look forward to visiting next year as we make this an integral part of our Yorkshire Girls District Cricket Programme for many, many years to come.
