Chalk up further victory
- after making the long journey to picturesque Warkworth in Northumberland (pictured), the scene of their memorable 285 run chase to victory in 2011.
Winning the toss and electing to bowl the visitors made steady inroads into a somewhat depleted home side with all five bowlers used taking wickets, best being Kevin Watson (Brook Walton) 2/30 and Niel Doyle (Liversedge) 2/34. Only a stand of 53 between captain Phil Watson (30) and Chris Catnach (33) prevented a low score. As it was 150/7 off 45 overs did not present a difficult target as Yorkshire completed victory by 9 wickets in just 28.5 overs.
Openers Kevin Bradley (Clifton) (46 including 7x 4's and 1 x 6) and Neil Grant (Acomb) who carried his bat for 59* (10 x 4's) constructed an opening stand of 88, making comparatively light work of the reply. After Bradley was LBW to a ball that kept very low, Colin Frank (Pickering) with 38* joined Grant and the pair completed a routine victory without further upset.
