against Durham.
Yorkshire 50+ continued their winning start to the 2015 campaign with a stunning ten wicket win against Durham, last seasons overall winners, at Clifton Alliance CC in York.
Winning the toss the home side elected to bowl first and once again put up a good performance in the field. Steady bowling and excellent ground fielding restricted any chance of the Durham batsmen breaking the stranglehold exerted by the home side and at the halfway innings stage the Champions had only managed 69 for the loss both oopeners (k Smith 46).
Yorkshire continued to turn the screw with excellent ground fielding with wickets falling at regular intervals, Durham being restricted to 139 for 9 in the last of their 45 overs. Captain Steve Wales (North Leeds) took 3 for 26 with one wicket each to Mark Wilson (Wath), Rob Keywood (Warley) (miserly with 1 for 10 off his 9 overs) and Kevin Watson. (Brook Walton) 3 run outs bear testament to the high standard of ground fielding.
In reply Yorkshire encountered little pressure from the Durham bowlers and moved rapidly to a 10 wicket victory with an unbroken first wicket partnership of 143 somewhat dominated by Kevin Bradley (Clifton) (107 no) with able support from Richard Sykes (Acomb) (31no). Bradley hit 16 boundary 4's and two 6's with Sykes six boundary 4's in the victory, which took only 22 overs to complete.
