Match Report
Warwickshire won the toss and elected to bat first, once again Jack Redshaw (6-4-7-3) and Leo Wilson (8-2-19-0) were extremely disciplined in their opening spells restricting the batsmen and reducing them to 5-3 after 10 overs with 2 superb deliveries from Jack to remove the main Warwickshire run scorers from the previous fixture. The pressure was maintained throughout by the rest of the bowling attack with Oliver Rook (5-1-23-2) once again bowling a tight spell of leg spin bowling. Warwickshire pushed on in the last 10 overs with some outstanding running between the wickets putting pressure on the field and bowlers ending up on a competitive 147-8 off their 40 overs. In response the Yorkshire openers set a platform with wickets in hand in the face of some impressive bowling, especially from the Warwickshire spinners with Tom Burton (27) in particular occupying the crease well. Unfortunately when the innings needed to push on in the last 15 overs the Warwickshire spinners bowled with exceptional accuracy and wickets fell at regular intervals eventually been bowled out in the 40th over for 119 falling 28 runs short.
